The GIBRALTAR GIB51725 is a round U-bolt designed to secure pipe runs in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping systems. Manufactured from 304 stainless steel, it provides corrosion resistance in wet, outdoor, or chemically aggressive environments. The bolt is sized for 1-1/2 inch pipe, features a 3/8-16 UNC thread standard, and a 2-1/2 inch thread length. Overall length is 4 inches and width is 2 inches. Four nuts are included. This hardware is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors during pipe support and restraint work.
This U-bolt fits 1-1/2 inch pipe and is supplied without a mount plate, making it appropriate for use with separate backing plates, beam clamps, or strut channel assemblies. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial applications where stainless steel corrosion resistance is required, such as outdoor condenser piping support, refrigerant line sets, domestic water piping, and industrial process lines. The round shape provides even clamping force around the pipe circumference.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch pipe in standard pipe support and restraint assemblies. Compatible with separately sourced mount plates, strut channel, or beam clamp hardware that accepts 3/8-16 UNC fasteners.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians following applicable mechanical and plumbing codes. Depressurize and isolate the pipe before positioning the U-bolt to avoid movement during tightening. Use appropriately rated hardware when mounting to structural supports. Do not overtighten, as excessive clamping force can deform plastic or soft-metal pipe walls.
