The GIBRALTAR GIB51035 is a square U-bolt designed for securing pipe, conduit, or tubing to structural members in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical installations. Manufactured from C-1010 steel with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance, this U-bolt features a 3/8-16 UNC thread standard with a 3-inch thread length. The square bend geometry provides stable, flush contact against flat mounting surfaces. Each unit ships with two nuts and two washers, making it ready for immediate installation without additional hardware sourcing. It is sized at 6 inches wide and 5 inches in length, covering standard pipe and conduit span applications.
This U-bolt is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical work where pipe, conduit, or tubing runs must be fastened to strut channel, framing members, or structural steel. Typical applications include HVAC refrigerant line sets, plumbing supply and drain runs, and electrical conduit support. The square profile is commonly used on strut or unistrut-style channel where a matching bend radius keeps the assembly rigid. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and electricians are the primary installers, though experienced tradeworkers in general construction will also find this fitting useful.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 UNC square U-bolt for pipe, conduit, and tubing support applications in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations where a square-bend, no-mount-plate configuration is specified.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or electricians depending on the application. De-energize any nearby electrical circuits and isolate fluid systems before beginning work on active runs. Use appropriately rated hardware and verify that the fastener torque and support spacing meet applicable code requirements under NEC, IPC, or IFGC as relevant to the trade. Do not overtighten the nuts against soft or thin-wall tubing without a backing saddle or protective sleeve.
