The GIBRALTAR DKN25-PT-G is a non-locking knob handle plunger designed for indexed positioning and spring-loaded retention applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. Threaded at 1/4-20 with a 0.5-inch thread length, this plunger features a Delrin knob head and a spring-loaded steel plunger that delivers an initial end force of 0.12 pounds and a final end force of 0.36 pounds. The body measures 0.63 inches in length with a plunger projection of 0.13 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.16 inches. It is sold individually and suited for light-duty indexing, panel mounting, and fixture work where a compact, hand-operable plunger is required.
This plunger is used in manufacturing fixtures, machine panels, enclosures, and equipment frames where a quick-release or detent-style hold is needed without a locking mechanism. Its 1/4-20 thread allows direct installation into tapped holes in standard aluminum, steel, or plastic panels. The Delrin knob makes it operable without tools, making it appropriate for assemblies that require frequent manual adjustment or alignment. Maintenance technicians, machine builders, and fixture fabricators commonly install this type of hardware during assembly or field service work.
Designed for installation into any 1/4-20 tapped hole in standard panel, fixture, or enclosure applications requiring a non-locking spring plunger with a knob handle.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped 1/4-20 hole by hand or with a wrench applied to the hex feature. Verify panel material and thread depth are sufficient to engage the full 0.5-inch thread length before installation. No power source or special tooling is required, but ensure the mating surface is clean and free of debris before threading in. Torque to snug only — do not overtighten, as the Delrin knob head and plunger body can be damaged by excessive force.
