The GIBRALTAR DCIM32-64 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and precision industrial tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire shape, this spring delivers consistent, repeatable force throughout its compression cycle. It features a 2.5-inch free length, a 1.25-inch hole diameter, and a 0.625-inch rod diameter. With a maximum deflection load of 559 pounds and a maximum deflection of 1.12 inches, it is well-suited for applications requiring controlled, predictable load response. The blue color coding identifies it as a medium-duty rating per industry convention. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This spring is used in die sets, injection molds, punch press tooling, and similar precision mechanical assemblies where a guided compression spring is required. The 0.625-inch rod diameter accepts standard die spring guide rods, and the 1.25-inch hole diameter fits standard die spring pockets. It is appropriate for both OEM die builds and replacement service in existing tooling. The medium-duty rating makes it a common selection for general-purpose stamping and forming applications where higher-duty springs would be excessive.
Designed as a standard-dimensioned replacement or OEM die spring conforming to NAAMS and ISO 10243 specifications, fitting tooling built to those dimensional standards with a 1.25-inch hole diameter and 0.625-inch rod diameter.
Die springs should be installed by qualified tool-and-die makers or maintenance technicians familiar with press tooling. De-energize and lock out the press before servicing any die components. Ensure the guide rod and spring pocket dimensions match the spring specifications before installation. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding travel-to-solid limits will cause premature fatigue failure.
