The GIBRALTAR DCIM20-152 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire shape wound from chromium alloy steel, which provides consistent force output and fatigue resistance under cyclic loading. The spring has a 3/4 inch hole diameter, a 3/8 inch rod diameter, and a 6 inch free length. It is color-coded blue in accordance with standard die spring duty classifications, making it straightforward to identify and replace in multi-spring tooling setups. Typical installers are tool and die technicians, machine builders, and maintenance machinists working on press tooling or injection mold assemblies.
This spring is suited for medium-load press tooling, stripper plates, blank holders, and similar die components where controlled deflection and repeatable spring force are required. The 6 inch free length and 2.52 inch maximum deflection accommodate a useful stroke range in standard die sets. With a maximum deflection load of 184 pounds, it handles moderate clamping and stripping forces in production tooling environments. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both OEM die builds and maintenance replacement applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for standard die sets and tooling plates requiring a medium-duty blue-class spring with a 3/4 inch hole diameter and 3/8 inch rod diameter.
Installation is typically performed by qualified tool and die technicians or maintenance machinists. Relieve all press tonnage and de-energize the press before removing or installing die springs. Inspect the spring pocket and guide rod for wear or damage prior to installation, as misalignment will shorten spring service life. Never compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure.
