The GIBRALTAR DCIM16-25 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in tooling, stamping dies, and industrial press applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section wound from chromium alloy steel, which delivers higher load capacity and longer service life compared to standard round-wire springs of the same envelope size. The hole diameter is 0.625 inches, the rod diameter is 0.344 inches, and the free length is 1 inch. Maximum deflection load is 145 pounds at 0.460 inches of travel. The spring rate is 318 pounds per inch. This part is installed by tool and die makers, maintenance machinists, and industrial equipment technicians.
This die spring is suited for medium-duty cycling loads in stamping dies, molds, fixtures, and industrial machinery where consistent force and repeatable travel are required. The blue color coding identifies the medium-duty load class per standard die spring classification systems. The compressed length at maximum load is 0.460 inches, and maximum travel to solid is 0.472 inches. It is appropriate for applications where space is limited and a compact 1-inch free-length spring is specified.
Designed as a standard replacement die spring for medium-duty tooling and stamping die applications requiring a 5/8-inch hole diameter, 11/32-inch rod diameter, and 1-inch free length per NAAMS and ISO 10243 specifications.
Die springs should be installed by qualified tooling or maintenance personnel with the press or machine de-energized and all stored energy released before service. Ensure the mating hole and rod dimensions match the spring specifications before installation. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection to avoid permanent set or premature failure. Consult applicable machinery safety standards and facility lockout/tagout procedures before any tooling work.
