The GIBRALTAR DCIB50-76 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for high-load tooling and stamping applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 3019 pounds and a spring rate of 3067 pounds per inch. The 2-inch hole diameter accepts a 1-inch rod, and the free length is 3 inches. Maximum deflection is 0.98 inches, with travel to solid of 0.9921 inches. The yellow color coding identifies the extra heavy-duty duty rating per industry standard conventions. This spring is installed by tool and die makers, mold builders, and maintenance machinists working in press tooling, injection molds, and metal stamping dies.
This die spring is suited for industrial press tooling, stamping dies, and plastic injection molds where high compressive loads and consistent return force are required. The trapezoidal wire geometry increases load capacity relative to round-wire springs of comparable size, making it appropriate for applications demanding maximum force in a compact envelope. It is sold individually and is intended for direct replacement or new tooling builds in both production and maintenance settings.
Designed as a standard-dimension extra heavy-duty die spring suitable for press tooling, stamping dies, and injection mold applications requiring a 2-inch hole diameter and 1-inch rod diameter configuration per NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards.
Die spring replacement and installation is performed by qualified tool and die technicians or maintenance machinists. Always fully de-energize and lock out the press or tooling before removing or installing die springs. Inspect the mating rod and pocket bore for wear, scoring, or out-of-tolerance dimensions before fitting a replacement spring. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection to avoid permanent set or premature fatigue failure.
