The GIBRALTAR DCIB25-64 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for high-load tooling and stamping applications in industrial and manufacturing environments. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 698 pounds and a spring rate of 886 pounds per inch. The 2.5-inch free length, 1-inch hole diameter, and 0.5-inch rod diameter are standard dimensions for press tool and die setups. Color-coded yellow per industry convention to indicate extra heavy-duty load rating. Licensed toolmakers, tool and die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for press tool, stamping die, and fixture applications where high compressive loads are required in a compact envelope. The 0.79-inch maximum deflection and 0.7677-inch travel to solid make it appropriate for applications with controlled stroke lengths. It fits standard spring pockets machined to a 1-inch bore with a 0.5-inch guide rod. The trapezoidal wire profile provides a higher load capacity per unit of free length compared to round wire designs of the same envelope size.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-build die spring for press tooling and stamping die applications requiring a 1-inch hole diameter, 0.5-inch rod diameter, and 2.5-inch free length with an extra heavy-duty load rating.
Installation is performed by qualified tool and die technicians or industrial maintenance personnel. Ensure the guide rod and spring pocket bore are clean, properly sized, and free of burrs before seating the spring. Never compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection of 0.79 inches, as exceeding this limit will cause coil binding and premature fatigue failure. De-energize and lock out all press or fixture actuators before servicing springs in any tooling assembly.
