The GIBRALTAR DCIB25-51 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial fixture applications. It features a 1-inch hole diameter, a 0.5-inch rod diameter, and a 2-inch free length, with a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers consistent force distribution under load. Built from chromium alloy steel, this spring handles a maximum deflection load of 677 pounds across a maximum deflection of 0.6 inches. The yellow color coding identifies it as an extra heavy-duty rating per industry-standard die spring classification. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for high-cycle stamping and metal forming applications where a compact, high-load spring is required. The trapezoidal wire profile allows higher load capacity in a given space compared to round-wire springs. With a spring rate of 1,124 pounds per inch and a travel-to-solid of approximately 0.595 inches, it fits applications that demand repeatable, controlled return force in tight die pockets or guided spring assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for standard guided die spring pockets requiring a 1-inch hole diameter, 0.5-inch rod diameter, and 2-inch free length in extra heavy-duty applications conforming to NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians with the press locked out and all stored energy released before service. The spring must be seated concentrically on the guide rod and within the pocket bore to prevent side loading. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.6 inches during installation or operation. Follow applicable shop safety and lockout/tagout procedures throughout the service process.
