The GIBRALTAR DCIB10-32 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and precision fixturing applications. It features a 0.375-inch hole diameter, a 0.1875-inch rod diameter, and a free length of 1.25 inches. The spring is wound from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which delivers a higher spring rate and greater load capacity than round-wire springs of the same size. The rated maximum deflection load is 57 pounds, with a maximum deflection of 0.370 inches and a spring rate of 157 pounds per inch. The yellow color coding indicates extra heavy-duty load class per ISO 10243. This part is installed by tool and die makers, machine builders, and maintenance technicians working on stamping and forming equipment.
This die spring is suited for compact tooling applications where high load capacity is required in a small envelope. The 1.25-inch free length and 0.1875-inch rod diameter make it appropriate for standard die sets, stripper plates, and component retention assemblies in both production and prototype tooling environments. It is sold individually and is stocked as a direct replacement or supplemental component in light industrial, automotive, and general manufacturing maintenance operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service component for standard die sets and press tooling requiring a 0.375-inch bore, 0.1875-inch rod, and 1.25-inch free length extra heavy-duty die spring.
Die spring replacement is typically performed by tool and die makers or qualified maintenance technicians. Before servicing any press or die set, de-energize the press, engage all mechanical safety blocks, and relieve any stored energy in the tooling. Springs should be installed concentric with the guide rod and seated fully in the pocket before press closure. Do not compress this spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.370 inches.
