The GIBRALTAR BHG3711-G is a steel die mold shoulder bushing designed to guide and locate tooling components within die sets and mold bases. It features a press-fit attachment method for secure, permanent installation in bored housings. The bushing has an inside diameter of 0.8755 inches, an overall length of 1.875 inches, and a stepped shoulder profile with a bottom outside diameter of 1.2505 inches and a top outside diameter of 1.4270 inches. It is a friction-type, non-self-lubricating bushing intended for use in precision tooling applications where controlled fit and dimensional accuracy are required. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and mold builders typically install this component.
This bushing is suited for die sets, mold bases, and fixture plates in both production and prototype tooling environments. The shoulder design seats the bushing flush against a counterbored surface, providing a positive stop during installation. It is commonly used in stamping dies, injection mold bases, and jig-and-fixture assemblies where repeatable guide alignment is critical. The press-fit interface holds the bushing securely under normal operating loads without additional fasteners.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for standard die mold shoulder bushing applications requiring a 0.8755-inch inside diameter and 1.875-inch overall length in press-fit bored housings.
Installation is performed by tool-and-die makers or machinists using a hydraulic or mechanical press to seat the bushing into a properly sized bored hole. The bore in the receiving plate must be machined to the correct press-fit tolerance before installation — do not force the bushing into an undersized bore with impact tools. Verify the counterbore depth matches the head height of 0.1875 inches to ensure the shoulder seats fully. Clean and degrease the bore before pressing if the application requires a dry fit.
