The GIBRALTAR 9536-G is a headless rolling ball end clamping screw designed for secure, repeatable workholding in fixturing, jigs, and tooling setups. The screw features a 1/2-13 UNC thread and measures 1 inch overall length (OAL). The rolling ball end, measuring 0.334 inches in diameter and made from stainless steel, allows the clamping point to self-align against irregular or angled workpiece surfaces without marring. The body is steel with a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance. Drive is via a 1/4-inch hex key. This fastener is sized for applications where a flush or recessed drive head is required and a standard socket or cap screw head would interfere with the assembly.
The 9536-G is used in machine shop fixturing, modular workholding systems, die sets, and precision tooling plates where controlled clamping force and low-profile installation are required. The rolling ball tip accommodates slight angular misalignment between the screw axis and the clamping surface, making it suitable for clamping against angled faces or curved workpieces. Typical installers include machinists, tool and die makers, and mechanical assembly technicians working with production fixtures.
Designed as a direct-fit clamping screw for standard 1/2-13 UNC tapped holes in modular fixturing plates, tooling blocks, and workholding components requiring a rolling ball end style.
Installation requires a 1/4-inch hex key; ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of chips before threading the screw in. De-energize or lock out any powered equipment and secure the workpiece before applying clamping force. Do not exceed the torque rating of the mating tapped component, particularly in aluminum or soft tooling plate. Inspect the rolling ball for free rotation and seating before use to confirm proper self-alignment function.
