The GIBRALTAR 9534SS-G is a headless rolling ball end clamping screw designed for precision fixturing, workholding, and positioning applications. The rolling ball end allows the fastener to apply even clamping force against angled or irregular surfaces without marring the workpiece. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel throughout, including the ball, this screw resists corrosion in wet or washdown environments. The 3/8-16 UNC thread and 0.75-inch overall length make it a compact, direct-drive fastener suitable for jig plates, fixture blocks, and machine tool setups installed by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians.
This clamping screw is used in precision machining fixtures, tooling plates, and workholding assemblies where a positive, non-marring contact point is required. The headless design allows the screw to sit flush or below the surface of a tapped hole, keeping the fixture profile low. Typical installations include drill jigs, milling fixtures, and modular fixturing systems in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in any standard 3/8-16 UNC tapped hole in fixturing plates, jig bodies, or workholding assemblies requiring a rolling ball end clamping screw.
Installation is performed with a hex key or spanner sized to the headless drive recess; confirm drive type before installation. Ensure the mating tapped hole is clean and free of chips before threading in the screw. Do not overtighten against hardened surfaces, as the rolling ball is designed for clamping load, not impact. In stainless-to-stainless thread engagements, apply an anti-galling compound to prevent thread seizure.
