The GIBRALTAR 832SF3040-G is a stainless steel rod end designed for mechanical linkage assemblies, control systems, and industrial hardware applications. This eye hole head rod end features a 5/16-18 external male thread and a shank diameter of 5/16 inches. The 4-inch hole-center-to-end measurement and 3.5-inch thread length provide substantial engagement depth for secure, adjustable connections. Constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel with an uncoated finish, this rod end resists corrosion in demanding service environments. It is suited for HVAC damper linkages, mechanical control rods, and similar push-pull or pivot assemblies where dimensional precision and material durability matter.
This rod end is appropriate for use in light to medium-duty mechanical systems requiring a rotatable, low-friction pivot point at a linkage terminus. Common applications include HVAC damper control arms, valve actuator linkages, and general industrial control rod assemblies. The eye hole head design allows a clevis pin or bolt to pass through the 5/16-inch hole diameter for connection to a mating component. It is sold individually and is intended for installation by HVAC technicians, millwrights, or mechanical contractors working on damper or actuator linkage systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation rod end for inch-series mechanical linkage assemblies using 5/16-18 threaded connections.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or mechanical contractor. Ensure the mating threaded rod or control arm is fully de-energized and the actuator or damper system is in a safe, locked-out position before replacing or adjusting rod ends. Thread the rod end onto the control rod to the desired length and secure with a jam nut to prevent backing out during operation. Verify hole alignment before inserting the clevis pin and confirm all fasteners are tightened to the hardware manufacturer's specifications.
