The GIBRALTAR 826810-G is a shoulder-style inspection tooling ball used in precision fixturing and gauging applications. Machined from heat-treated steel, the ball measures 0.375 inches in diameter and mounts on a 0.1875-inch slip-fit shank. The ball center sits 0.3 inches above the shoulder bottom and 0.75 inches above the shank bottom. Ball and shank concentricity is held to 0.0002 inches, making this component suitable for repeatable, high-accuracy inspection setups. Machinists, toolmakers, and metrology technicians install these in CMM fixtures, jigs, and gauging plates where consistent datum reference is required.
This tooling ball is intended for inspection fixturing in manufacturing and metrology environments. The shoulder design provides a positive seating surface against a mating bore or fixture face. The slip-fit shank allows installation without threading, simplifying changeout in modular fixture systems. Typical applications include CMM datum setups, fixture alignment, and part-location references on precision machining and inspection fixtures.
Designed for use in standard inspection fixture and gauging applications requiring a 0.1875-inch slip-fit shank bore.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or metrology technicians during fixture build or setup. Press or hand-fit the slip-fit shank into the mating bore to the specified depth before securing the fixture assembly. Ensure the mating bore is clean and free of burrs to achieve full seating against the shoulder. Do not force or hammer the ball assembly, as this may affect concentricity or damage the seating surface.
