The GIBRALTAR 826805-G is a shoulder-style inspection tooling ball designed for precision measurement and fixturing applications in machining and metrology environments. The ball measures 0.25 inches in diameter and mounts on a 0.125-inch diameter slip-fit shank, allowing quick placement and removal from a tooling plate or fixture. The ball center sits 0.2 inches above the shoulder bottom and 0.5625 inches above the shank bottom, giving technicians repeatable reference geometry. The ball and shank concentricity is held to 0.0002 inches. The body is heat-treated steel for wear resistance. Machinists, toolmakers, and quality technicians install this part in coordinate measuring machine setups, jig and fixture builds, and inspection gauging layouts.
This tooling ball is suited for precision workholding and part-location applications in job shops, production machine shops, and quality labs. The shoulder design provides a positive seating surface against the mounting face, making it appropriate for applications where a defined datum reference plane is required alongside the ball center point. The slip-fit shank engages standard 0.125-inch tooling holes without threading, which speeds setup and changeover in fixture work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling ball for fixtures and inspection setups using standard 0.125-inch slip-fit tooling holes in steel tooling plates and fixture bases.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or quality technicians using standard fixture assembly practices. Ensure the mating tooling hole is clean and within tolerance before inserting the slip-fit shank to avoid binding or false seating against the shoulder. Do not press or hammer the shank into undersized holes, as this can affect concentricity. Verify ball center height with a reference gauge or CMM probe before locking the fixture into production use.
