The GIBRALTAR 67522 is a heavy-duty bench vise built from 60,000 PSI ductile iron with a black powder coat finish, designed for demanding trade and shop environments. It delivers a 5-1/4 inch jaw opening capacity with a 3-7/8 inch throat depth, giving technicians and tradespeople substantial clearance for workpiece clamping. The swivel base with dual lockdowns allows repositioning for angled work without removing the vise from the bench. Serrated jaw faces provide a firm grip on flat stock and round material alike. Pipe jaw capacity runs from 1/2 inch up to 3-1/2 inches, making it functional for plumbers and pipefitters working with a range of pipe diameters.
This bench vise suits heavy-duty workshop and trade shop applications where a permanent or semi-permanent bench-mounted clamping station is needed. The bolt-down base with four mounting points and two lockdown bolts anchors the vise securely to a standard workbench. It is appropriate for plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, general fabrication, and mechanical service work where both flat stock and pipe clamping are routine tasks. The replaceable jaw inserts and replaceable pipe jaws extend service life without requiring full vise replacement.
Designed as a bolt-down bench vise for use on standard shop workbenches requiring a four-point mount; compatible with typical bench surfaces that accept the included mounting hardware configuration.
Installation is performed by securing the four-point bolt-down base to a solid workbench surface using appropriately rated hardware through each mounting point. Ensure the bench surface is thick and rigid enough to handle the vise weight of 48.5 pounds plus applied clamping forces before fastening. Engage both lockdown bolts fully before applying heavy clamping load when the base is set in a swivel position. No special trade license is required for bench installation, but proper bench construction should conform to applicable shop safety standards.
