The GIBRALTAR 49326G is a slip-fit diamond straight locating pin used in workholding and fixture applications. It is manufactured from low carbon steel and features a relieved diamond nose profile that allows two locating pins to be used simultaneously in close-hole patterns without binding. The nose diameter measures 0.499 inches with a nose length of 0.5 inches. The tail diameter is 0.5 inches, the collar diameter is 0.875 inches, and the overall length (OAL) is 1.5 inches. A chamfer length of 0.125 inches aids part entry. The tolerance is held at +0.0000 inches, making this pin suitable for precision repeatable positioning in machined jig plates and fixtures.
This locating pin is intended for use in jig and fixture setups where a second locating point is needed alongside a round locating pin. The diamond (relieved) geometry compensates for hole-to-hole spacing variation and prevents over-constraint of the workpiece. Typical installations include production machining fixtures, welding fixtures, assembly jigs, and quality inspection fixtures. The slip-fit design allows the workpiece to be loaded and unloaded without interference while maintaining reliable positional reference. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in metal fabrication and precision machining environments install this type of pin.
Designed as a standard-format replacement or supplemental locating pin for use in machining fixtures, assembly jigs, and inspection fixtures that accept a 0.5-inch tail diameter pin with a 0.875-inch collar.
Installation is typically performed by toolmakers or machinist-level personnel during fixture build or maintenance. Press or hand-fit the pin into the fixture plate from the front face, seating the collar flush against the plate surface. Ensure the fixture plate bore is clean and free of burrs before installation. Do not force the pin with impact tooling, as this can deform the precision nose geometry.
