The GIBRALTAR 40908G is an equal double threaded stud with a 3/4-10 thread size and an overall length of 6.5 inches. This stud is manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, meeting Material Grade 5 standards and Thread Fit Class 50. Double threaded studs are used to create a fixed threaded anchor point in assemblies where a bolt head or nut cannot be accessed from one side. The black oxide finish provides moderate corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection in finished assemblies. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance professionals working in mechanical, structural, or equipment-mounting applications will find this stud appropriate for medium-to-high-strength fastening requirements.
This stud is suited for industrial, mechanical, and general construction applications where a permanent or semi-permanent threaded connection is required between two components. The equal thread configuration means both ends carry the same 3/4-10 thread, making it interchangeable end-for-end during installation. It is commonly used in equipment mounting, pipe flange assemblies, and structural connections where alloy steel strength is specified. The flat feature on this stud allows for wrench engagement during installation and removal.
Designed as an OEM-style and aftermarket replacement stud for mechanical, structural, and industrial assemblies requiring a 3/4-10 threaded fastener at 6.5 inches overall length in alloy steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or tradesperson familiar with threaded fastener specifications and torque requirements for Grade 5 alloy steel hardware. De-energize and lock out any equipment before servicing fasteners in live assemblies. Use the flat feature and an appropriate open-end or box wrench to drive the stud without damaging the threads. Follow applicable mechanical codes and equipment manufacturer torque specifications for the assembly being serviced.
