The GIBRALTAR 40776G is an unequal double threaded stud with a 1/2-13 UNC thread profile and a 6-inch overall length. This fastener features two threaded ends of different lengths — a 2-inch long thread on one end and a 1-3/4-inch short thread on the other — with an unthreaded shank section in between. Constructed from Grade 5 carbon steel with a black oxide finish, the 40776G suits structural and mechanical fastening applications where a stud must be anchored into one component while accepting a nut on the opposite end. Thread Fit Class 5 indicates a close-tolerance fit appropriate for general industrial use. Licensed fastener technicians and maintenance trades installers are the typical end users.
This stud is suited for use in mechanical assemblies, HVAC equipment frames, industrial machinery, and structural bracketing where a fixed threaded anchor point is required. The unequal thread lengths allow one end to be set permanently into a tapped hole or coupling while the protruding end accepts a standard hex nut for component attachment.
