The GIBRALTAR 30509MG is a steel clamp strap designed for workholding applications in machining, fabrication, and toolroom environments. It features a tapered nose profile, an M16 stud size, and a serrated clamping surface for positive grip against workpieces. The strap measures 5.98 inches overall length with a 1.93-inch travel range, making it suited for setups requiring a moderate reach from the stud centerline. The black finish provides basic corrosion resistance in shop conditions. This component is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and fixturing technicians as part of manual workholding setups on milling machines, drill presses, and surface plates.
The 30509MG is used in standard T-slot workholding configurations on machining centers and manual mills. Its tapered nose allows the strap to tilt and apply clamping force at an angle, accommodating stepped workpieces or uneven fixture heights. The plain heel design works with a step block or riser on the opposite end of the stud. At 1.5 inches wide and 0.87 inches high, it fits into setups where clearance is limited. Suitable for both production and prototype fixturing where a reliable, reusable steel strap is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use component for standard M16 T-slot workholding setups on milling machines, drill presses, and fixture plates.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using standard T-slot hardware including a mating stud, step block, and nut. Ensure the machine table or fixture plate is de-energized and the spindle is stopped before adjusting workholding components. Position the step block heel at an appropriate height so the strap bears level or slightly nose-down on the workpiece for maximum clamping force. Torque the stud nut per your shop standard for M16 hardware.
