The GIBRALTAR 26173 9 is a fixed, shoulder-type lifting eye bolt rated for 4,000 pounds of lifting capacity. Forged from C-1035 steel and finished with a hot-dipped galvanized coating, it is built for use in rigging, lifting, and load-securing applications across industrial, construction, and mechanical trades. The 5/8-11 thread is fully threaded along a 1-3/4 inch shank, providing solid purchase in properly tapped or through-hole connections. The integral shoulder seats flush against the work surface to transfer load directly and reduce stress concentration at the thread root. This part is installed by millwrights, riggers, ironworkers, and maintenance mechanics where a reliable, fixed lifting point is required.
This eye bolt is suited for overhead lifting setups, anchor points, and tie-down applications in both shop and field environments. The hot-dipped galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in outdoor, humid, or mildly corrosive conditions. The shoulder design is required by ASME B30.26 for angular loading scenarios, making it appropriate for angled lift configurations when rated for the applied load vector. It ships as a single unit and is intended for use wherever a 5/8-11 threaded lifting point is specified.
Designed as a standard fixed shoulder lifting eye bolt with 5/8-11 thread, compatible with tapped holes, nuts, and anchor plates sized for 5/8-11 UNC fasteners in lifting and rigging assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or mechanic following applicable ASME B30.26 and OSHA rigging standards. The shoulder must bear fully and squarely against the mounting surface before loading. Never load the eye bolt beyond its rated capacity, and inspect threads and eye for deformation or cracking before each use. De-energize and isolate any connected equipment before servicing or repositioning a loaded anchor point.
