The GIBRALTAR 26017 6 is a fixed lifting eye bolt designed for straight vertical lifting applications in industrial, construction, and maintenance environments. Rated at 2,600 lb lifting capacity, it features a 1/2-13 threaded shank made from C-1035 forged steel with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance. The shank is fully threaded at 1-1/2 inches in length, and the eye measures 1-3/16 inches inside diameter and 2-1/16 inches outside diameter. This is a shoulderless design, meaning it is intended for axial (vertical inline) loads only. Installation is performed by maintenance mechanics, riggers, and industrial tradespeople following applicable lifting and rigging safety standards.
This eye bolt is suited for use in overhead lifting rigs, hoisting setups, and tie-down anchor applications where a fixed, non-swivel attachment point is required. The 1/2-13 UNC thread mates with standard threaded holes or nuts in structural steel, machinery frames, and equipment housings. The zinc-plated finish provides moderate environmental protection in indoor and light-duty outdoor settings. The shoulderless configuration limits this bolt to purely vertical loads; angular loading on a shoulderless eye bolt significantly reduces safe working load and must be avoided per ASME B30.26 and OSHA rigging standards.
Designed as a standard fixed lifting eye bolt with 1/2-13 UNC thread, compatible with threaded holes and hex nuts conforming to that thread specification in machinery, structural steel, and equipment frames.
Installation and use of lifting hardware must be performed by qualified riggers or tradespeople familiar with ASME B30.26 overhead hoisting standards and applicable OSHA regulations. De-energize and lock out any equipment before installing the eye bolt into machinery. Thread engagement should be sufficient to fully seat the eye bolt; never use a shoulderless eye bolt for angular or side loads. Inspect the eye bolt for deformation, thread damage, or cracks before each use and remove from service if any defects are found.
