The GIBRALTAR 1PLM-102-G is a single-pole magnetic lifter rated for loads up to 1,600 pounds. It uses a permanent magnet design, allowing hands-free engagement and release of ferrous steel workpieces without the need for external power. At 9.17 inches long, 3.98 inches wide, and 4.64 inches tall, it is a compact but heavy-duty unit weighing 50.71 pounds. Fabrication shops, machine shops, steel service centers, and rigging crews use this type of lifter to handle flat plate, round stock, and structural steel sections during material staging, machining setup, and load transfer operations.
The 1PLM-102-G is suited for industrial and commercial environments where repeated ferrous material handling is required. Typical applications include lifting steel plate on fabrication tables, transferring billets or bar stock between stations, and positioning heavy steel components for welding or machining. The single-pole configuration provides focused magnetic contact for flat and slightly curved ferrous surfaces. This lifter is handled by riggers, millwrights, and fabricators who require a reliable, no-power lifting solution for steel loads within the 1,600-pound rated capacity.
Designed for use with flat and mildly curved ferrous steel workpieces in industrial lifting and material handling applications. Suitable for use with standard overhead crane hooks, chain hoists, and rigging hardware rated to match or exceed the 1,600 lb load capacity.
Installation and operation of lifting magnets should be performed by qualified riggers or millwrights familiar with applicable ASME B30 rigging standards. Before use, verify that the attachment point on the crane or hoist is rated to at least the full load capacity of the lifter. Inspect the magnet face and the workpiece surface for debris, scale, or coatings that may reduce magnetic holding force prior to each lift. Never exceed the rated load capacity, and never use this lifter on non-ferrous materials, porous castings, or materials that may fracture under magnetic stress.
