The GIBRALTAR 10113-G is a threaded ball plunger designed for use in positioning, locating, and indexing applications across mechanical assemblies. The body and ball are both constructed from stainless steel, offering corrosion resistance in demanding environments. It features a 1/2-13 thread size, a ball diameter of 0.281 inches, and a body length of 0.75 inches. The plunger delivers 3 pounds of initial end force and 6 pounds of final end force, making it suitable for light-duty detent and retention tasks. A locking element is included to secure the plunger in position after installation.
This ball plunger is suited for use in machine tools, fixtures, jigs, and industrial equipment where repeatable part positioning or panel detenting is required. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments where mild chemical exposure or moisture is a factor. It is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and mechanical assembly technicians. The compact body length of 0.75 inches and maximum ball reach of 0.072 inches allow it to fit into tight threaded bores with minimal protrusion.
Designed as a standard threaded ball plunger for use in any fixture, jig, or mechanical assembly that accepts a 1/2-13 threaded bore.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger into a pre-tapped 1/2-13 bore using an appropriate wrench or hex key on the locking element. Ensure the mating bore is clean and free of debris before installation. Engage the locking element fully once the desired ball protrusion depth is set to prevent the plunger from backing out under load. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the thread or restrict ball movement.
