The GIBRALTAR 10011-G is a threaded ball plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light detent applications in mechanical assemblies. It features a 5/16-18 threaded body machined from steel, with a steel ball measuring 0.156 inches in diameter. The ball extends a maximum of 0.04 inches and delivers an initial end force of 2 pounds, ramping to a final end force of 4.5 pounds. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in place after installation. The black finish adds corrosion resistance for general industrial environments. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers install this type of hardware in jigs, fixtures, and equipment panels.
The 10011-G is suited for use in light-duty positioning applications where a spring-loaded ball detent is needed to locate or retain a moving part. Common install scenarios include tool fixtures, sliding door tracks, drawer stops, and panel assemblies. The compact body length of 0.578 inches allows installation in tight clearance situations where a standard plunger would not fit.
Designed as a standard 5/16-18 threaded ball plunger for use in tapped holes requiring a spring-loaded detent or positioning element in mechanical assemblies.
Installation requires a tapped 5/16-18 hole in the mating component. Use a hex wrench or appropriate driver to thread the plunger body in until the locking element engages. Power down or de-energize any equipment before servicing assemblies that contain this hardware. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking element or restrict ball movement.
