The GIBRALTAR 08645 5 is a fixed lifting eye bolt with shoulder, designed for rigging and lifting applications where a secure, non-swiveling attachment point is required. Manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel with an electropolished finish, it offers strong corrosion resistance in wet, marine, and chemically exposed environments. The bolt carries a 1,200 lb lifting capacity and features a 3/8 inch thread size with a 2 inch thread length on a 4.25 inch shank. It is partially threaded and includes a shoulder base, which bears load against the mounting surface and reduces stress concentration at the eye. Electricians, riggers, millwrights, and maintenance trades install this type of hardware in overhead lifting, tie-down, and anchoring setups.
This eye bolt is suited for fixed lifting points in residential, commercial, and industrial installations where corrosion resistance is a priority. The Grade 316 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for marine structures, pool equipment rooms, chemical processing environments, and coastal HVAC or mechanical system rigging. The shoulder design is required for angular loading applications. Install personnel should refer to the applicable rigging standards and the manufacturer load rating when calculating safe working loads for angled lifts.
Designed as a standard fixed shoulder eye bolt for use with 3/8 inch threaded hardware in rigging, lifting, and tie-down applications requiring Grade 316 stainless steel corrosion resistance.
Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or licensed trade professional familiar with applicable ASME B30 rigging standards. Ensure the mounting substrate is rated for the intended load before installing. Always de-energize or isolate adjacent systems before working overhead. Do not exceed the rated lifting capacity, and account for load angle reduction when the eye bolt is loaded off-axis from vertical.
