The GEORGE RISK INDUSTRIES INC. 194-12-W is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) recessed contact switch finished in white. Recessed contacts are magnetic reed switch assemblies designed to mount flush within a door or window frame, detecting open and closed states for security and alarm system applications. The SPDT configuration provides both normally open and normally closed circuit outputs from a single device, giving installers flexibility to wire into a wide range of control panels. This unit ships as a single contact assembly. Installation is typically performed by alarm technicians or low-voltage electricians working on intrusion detection or access control systems.
The 194-12-W is suited for residential and light commercial security installations where a flush, concealed appearance is required. The white finish blends with painted door and window trim in residential settings. The recessed design hides the switch body within a drilled cavity in the door or frame, leaving only a minimal surface profile visible. This makes it appropriate for applications where aesthetics or tamper resistance are priorities, such as entry doors, casement windows, and interior access points.
Designed as an OEM-style recessed contact switch for use with residential and light commercial intrusion detection, burglar alarm, and access control systems that accept SPDT magnetic reed switch inputs.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or alarm installer. Power down the alarm control panel or isolate the applicable zone circuit before wiring the contact. A drill and appropriate bit are required to bore the recessed cavity in the door and frame to the manufacturer-specified diameter. Follow local building codes and any applicable NEC low-voltage wiring requirements when running and terminating conductors.
