The George Risk Industries 4405A-72 is a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) overhead door contact switch supplied with a 6-inch arm cable. It is designed to detect the open or closed position of an overhead door and signal a connected control system accordingly. This type of switch is a standard component in commercial and industrial security, access control, and building automation systems. Licensed electricians and security technicians are the primary installers. The DPDT configuration provides both normally open and normally closed circuit paths, making it adaptable to a range of control panel wiring schemes.
This switch is suited for overhead door monitoring applications in commercial warehouses, loading docks, industrial facilities, and secured access points. It mounts to the door frame or door track and actuates when the door moves through its travel path. The included arm cable aids in positioning the actuator for consistent and reliable contact engagement. It is sold as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation switch for overhead door monitoring applications in commercial and industrial security and access control systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician or a certified security systems technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the door operator and associated control panel before beginning work. Mount the switch body to a fixed surface such as the door frame or track, and route the arm cable so the actuator engages cleanly at the desired door position. Follow all applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage wiring and conduit routing at the installation site.
