The George Risk Industries 29PD-B is a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) reed switch with a 2-circuit frame, finished in brown, designed for use as a surface-mount contact in security and access control systems. Reed switches in this category are magnetically actuated, making them well suited for door, window, and gate monitoring applications where a reliable open or closed circuit signal is required. The 29PD-B is installed by alarm system technicians and low-voltage electricians working on residential or light commercial intrusion detection and access control projects.
This surface contact switch is intended for mounting directly to door or window frames without recessing into the substrate. Its brown finish is selected to blend with wood-tone frames and trim commonly found in residential installations. The DPDT configuration provides two independent switching circuits from a single actuating magnet, giving installers flexibility to wire normally open and normally closed loops simultaneously from one device.
