The George Risk Industries 180-12WG-B is a recessed door contact designed for use in security and alarm systems. This steel-bodied magnetic contact installs flush into a bored hole in a door or door frame, keeping the sensor concealed for a clean, tamper-resistant fit. The brown finish blends with wood doors and frames commonly found in residential and light commercial applications. Electricians and low-voltage alarm technicians are the typical installers. The unit ships as a single contact assembly.
This recessed contact is suited for residential and light commercial door monitoring applications. It fits into a standard 3/4-inch diameter bore hole, making it compatible with wood, hollow-core, and similar door constructions where a surface-mount contact is not preferred. It is commonly used in intrusion detection systems, access control installations, and fire alarm door monitoring circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style recessed magnetic door contact for residential and light commercial intrusion detection and access control systems requiring a 3/4-inch recessed contact.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage electrician or alarm technician. Before installation, ensure the alarm or security panel is powered down and disarmed. A 3/4-inch spade or Forstner bit is used to bore the mounting hole to the required depth in the door or frame. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer wiring guidelines when terminating leads at the control panel.
