The GEORG FISCHER 9861259 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple measuring 2 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length, with male pipe thread (MPT) connections on both ends. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, this nipple is engineered for demanding industrial and commercial plumbing applications where elevated temperatures, corrosive chemicals, or higher working pressures are present. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure ratings compared to Schedule 40, making it a preferred choice for process piping, chemical distribution, and hot-water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters specify this fitting where CPVC thermoplastic is the system material of record.
This nipple is suited for use in industrial process lines, chemical handling systems, hot and cold water distribution, and commercial plumbing installations where CPVC is specified. The MPT x MPT configuration allows direct threaded connection into female-threaded fittings, valves, or equipment ports. Corzan-grade CPVC offers improved resistance to a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial fluids, making this nipple appropriate for aggressive-media service environments in addition to standard potable and non-potable water systems.
Designed for use in Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems utilizing standard NPT threaded connections in industrial, commercial, and plumbing applications where CPVC thermoplastic fittings and valves are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC thermoplastic systems. Depressurize and drain the line fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten hand-tight plus no more than one to two turns with a strap wrench to avoid cracking the fitting. Do not use pipe wrenches with metal jaw inserts directly on CPVC threads, and never apply open flame to the fitting.
