The GEORG FISCHER 9861221 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple designed for use in pressure piping systems that require corrosion-resistant, high-temperature performance. Sized at 1-1/2 inches with male pipe thread (MPT) on both ends and a 12-inch body length, this nipple is manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, a material rated for higher service temperatures and pressures than standard PVC. It is used where all-plastic fittings and pipe runs are specified to resist aggressive chemicals or high-chlorine environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers in commercial and industrial plumbing, chemical processing, and water treatment applications.
This nipple is suited for close-coupled and extended-run connections in systems where metal pipe would corrode or where plastic pipe is code-required for the fluid being handled. Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 fittings are commonly used in industrial process lines, hot and cold water distribution, and chemical fluid transfer. The MPT x MPT configuration allows direct threading into Schedule 80 CPVC fittings, valves, or equipment connections without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/2 inch MPT fittings and valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local equivalents. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing any existing fittings or nipples. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape only — do not apply solvents, oils, or thread compounds not rated for CPVC. Avoid over-torquing threaded connections, as CPVC is susceptible to cracking under excessive mechanical stress.
