The GEORG FISCHER 9861-251 is a Schedule 80 CPVC close nipple with male NPT threads on both ends, sized at 2 inches nominal pipe size. Manufactured from ChlorFIT CPVC, this nipple is engineered for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure performance are critical. It carries a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi and handles temperatures from 32 degrees F up to 200 degrees F. The gray CPVC construction provides corrosion resistance that standard metal or PVC fittings cannot match in aggressive service conditions. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in chemical distribution, process piping, and potable water systems.
This close nipple is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are required. Rated for gravity flow and pressure service, it is appropriate for acids, industrial chemicals, non-potable water, and potable water applications. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional strength over Schedule 40, making it a preferred choice in higher-pressure runs or where pipe wall integrity is a concern. Its gray color and CPVC material are consistent with ChlorFIT system components.
Designed for use with Schedule 80 CPVC fittings and piping systems, including ChlorFIT-compatible components. Suitable for gravity flow and pressure applications carrying acids, chemicals, and potable or non-potable water.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines for thermoplastic piping. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for chemical service — do not use pipe dopes or sealants incompatible with CPVC. Avoid over-tightening threaded connections, as CPVC can crack under excessive torque.
