The GEORG FISCHER 9861-133 is a Schedule 80 CPVC close nipple designed for use in both potable and non-potable water piping systems. Rated to 315 psi at 73 degrees F and capable of handling fluid temperatures up to 210 degrees F, this fully threaded nipple handles the pressure and heat demands common in commercial and industrial plumbing installations. Made from Chlorfit CPVC in a gray finish, it features male NPT threads on both ends and measures 1 inch nominal pipe size with a 1.315-inch outside diameter and an overall length of 1.5 inches. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as a compact threaded connector between valves, pumps, and other Schedule 80 fittings.
This close nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems where chlorinated PVC piping is specified for corrosion resistance. Typical applications include chemical distribution, hot and cold water supply, and industrial process lines where standard metallic nipples are not appropriate. Its Chlorfit CPVC construction makes it a common choice wherever aggressive water chemistry or elevated temperatures exceed the limits of standard PVC.
Designed for use with Schedule 80 CPVC fittings and piping systems. Compatible with both potable and non-potable water applications where NPT threaded Schedule 80 connections are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC or IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape only — do not use petroleum-based compounds, which can degrade CPVC. Hand-tighten first, then snug with a pipe wrench; avoid over-torquing, which can crack threaded CPVC fittings.
