The GEORG FISCHER 9861-109 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple designed for use in pressurized piping systems handling potable and non-potable water. Measuring 3/4 inch nominal pipe size with an overall length of 6 inches and an outside diameter of 1.05 inches, this nipple features male NPT threads on both ends for straightforward inline connections. Built from CPVC material under the Chlorfit designation, it is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 345 psi at 73 degrees F and a maximum operating temperature of 210 degrees F, making it well suited to demanding plumbing and industrial process lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this fitting.
This nipple is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where Schedule 80 CPVC pipe and fittings are specified. Its gray color and CPVC construction make it a common choice for chemical-resistant, corrosion-resistant water distribution lines, both above ground and in exposed mechanical room installations. The MPT connection on both ends allows it to thread directly into Schedule 80 CPVC couplings, valves, and other fittings without adapters. It is appropriate for systems operating as low as 32 degrees F and up to 210 degrees F.
Designed for use with Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems and fittings using 3/4 inch nominal pipe size with NPT threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for plastic threads — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade CPVC. Do not exceed the rated pressure or temperature limits for the system.
