The GEORG FISCHER 9861-104 is a Schedule 80 CPVC close nipple designed for use in both potable and non-potable water systems. Manufactured from Chlorfit CPVC material in a gray finish, this nipple features fully threaded male NPT connections on both ends and measures 1.38 inches in overall length with a 3/4-inch nominal pipe size and a 1.05-inch outside diameter. It is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 345 psi at 73 degrees F and handles temperatures up to 210 degrees F, making it well suited for demanding hot and cold water distribution applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of thermoplastic piping assemblies.
This close nipple is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where Schedule 80 CPVC piping is specified. Its compact close-pattern length makes it the right choice when minimal space is available between threaded fittings or valves. Typical applications include potable water supply lines, chemical-resistant piping runs, and non-potable process water systems where corrosion resistance and high-pressure performance are required.
Designed for use with Schedule 80 CPVC threaded fittings and piping systems in potable and non-potable water service. Compatible with Schedule 80 fittings per ASTM F439.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use a thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for CPVC and thermoplastic piping — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade CPVC material. Hand-tighten first, then apply only the additional turns needed to achieve a leak-free seal, as overtightening threaded CPVC fittings can cause cracking.
