The GEORG FISCHER 9837421FB is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing bushing in a flush style configuration with a spigot-by-socket (SpgxS) end connection. It reduces a 4-inch line down to a 2.5-inch line and is manufactured from Corzan CPVC, a high-performance thermoplastic rated for demanding chemical and high-temperature plumbing applications. The flush bushing profile seats cleanly inside a socket fitting without creating a shoulder obstruction in the flow path. This part is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial process piping, commercial plumbing, or chemical handling systems where corrosion resistance and elevated temperature performance are required.
This reducing bushing is used in Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems where a line size reduction is needed at a fitting connection point. Typical applications include chemical processing facilities, industrial plants, water treatment systems, and commercial plumbing installations that require the superior chemical and heat resistance that CPVC provides over standard PVC. The flush style design integrates into existing socket fittings without adding unnecessary bulk or transition length to the assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 CPVC socket fittings and piping systems requiring a 4-inch to 2.5-inch reduction in a flush bushing format.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-cement joining procedures. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 service. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the system to pressure, and follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements.
