The GEORG FISCHER 9835-012 is a Schedule 80 CPVC female adapter designed to transition between a female NPT threaded connection and a socket (solvent-weld) connection in industrial and commercial piping systems. Rated at 260 psi at 73 degrees F with a maximum operating temperature of 210 degrees F, this fitting handles the pressure and heat demands common in chemical processing, industrial plumbing, and corrosive-fluid applications. The gray CPVC construction resists a wide range of chemicals and provides greater wall thickness than Schedule 40 fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter where threaded steel or CPVC piping transitions to solvent-welded CPVC pipe runs.
This adapter is sized for 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe on both sides and is compatible with Schedule 80 CPVC pipe systems. Side A accepts a socket (solvent-weld) connection with an outside diameter of 2-5/16 inches. Side B provides a female NPT thread at 11.5 threads per inch, also with an outside diameter of 2-5/16 inches and an overall fitting length of 2-7/16 inches. It is suited for use in systems requiring NSF 61 certified components and meeting ASTM F439 standards, making it appropriate for potable water and industrial fluid handling installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems requiring an FNPT x socket adapter connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-weld procedures and NPT thread sealing practices. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Apply an approved CPVC primer and cement to the socket side per the cement manufacturer instructions and applicable code requirements such as ASTM D2564. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads on the mating fitting before assembly — do not use petroleum-based compounds incompatible with CPVC.
