The GEORG FISCHER 9829-582FB is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed for socket-by-socket (SxS) connections in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, this fitting reduces from an 8-inch pipe to a 4-inch pipe and delivers the chemical resistance and pressure-rated performance that demanding fluid-handling applications require. Weighing 13.44 pounds and measuring 9.81 inches in length, it is a heavy-duty fitting suited for use where standard thermoplastic fittings are not sufficient. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically handle installation in process piping, chemical distribution, and hot-water systems.
This reducing coupling is applied in commercial and industrial piping installations where a transition from 8-inch to 4-inch pipe runs is required. Corzan CPVC material makes it appropriate for systems conveying corrosive fluids, hot water, or chemicals that would compromise metal or standard PVC fittings. The SxS socket configuration accepts standard Schedule 80 CPVC pipe on both ends and is well suited for new construction, process retrofits, and system expansions in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and large mechanical rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using the socket-by-socket solvent-cement connection method, sized for 8-inch inlet to 4-inch outlet pipe runs.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the manufacturer solvent-cement joining procedures for CPVC. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. Do not apply heat or open flame to CPVC fittings during installation.
