The GEORG FISCHER 9829-337FB is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed to transition from a 3-inch socket connection to a 1-1/2-inch socket connection within industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, this bushed coupling delivers the chemical resistance and pressure ratings demanded by aggressive fluid handling applications. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on corrosive service lines, chemical processing loops, or high-temperature water systems where standard PVC would be insufficient. The socket-by-socket end configuration allows solvent cementing on both ends for a secure, leak-free joint.
This reducing coupling is suited for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. Typical applications include chemical distribution lines, hot and cold water mains, industrial process piping, and plumbing systems requiring material compatibility with chlorinated or acidic fluids. Its reducing geometry accommodates branch or main-line transitions without requiring a separate bushing and coupling assembly, consolidating the fitting count in tight installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 3-inch and 1-1/2-inch socket-end fittings and pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for CPVC solvent-cement joints. Shut off and depressurize the affected piping system completely before cutting or joining any fittings. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings and Corzan compound; do not substitute PVC-only cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the line to service or pressure testing.
