The GEORG FISCHER 9829-249 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed for socket-by-socket (SxS) connections between 2-inch and 1-inch pipe. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC compound, this fitting delivers elevated temperature and pressure resistance compared to standard PVC, making it well suited for hot and cold water distribution, chemical process lines, and industrial plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting wherever a reduction in pipe diameter is required within a solvent-cemented thermoplastic piping system.
This reducing coupling is intended for use in Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems in both residential and commercial applications. Typical installation scenarios include potable water supply lines, industrial fluid handling, and chemical distribution where CPVC chemical resistance is required. The Corzan material grade is specified for higher-demand environments that require consistent performance across a broad temperature range. This fitting accepts 2-inch pipe on the larger socket end and 1-inch pipe on the smaller socket end.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC socket-end piping systems using 2-inch and 1-inch pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and local amendments. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line fully before cutting or joining pipe. Use a CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement meeting ASTM F493 specifications and allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Do not apply flame or mechanical stress to the fitting during or after assembly.
