The GEORG FISCHER 9801-248 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing tee fitting sized at 2 inches by 3/4 inches with a socket by socket by socket (SxSxS) end configuration. This fitting is injection-molded from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), a material rated for higher temperatures and pressures than standard PVC. The smooth interior wall reduces friction loss and supports higher flow volume compared to threaded metal fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in industrial and commercial pressure piping systems where chemical resistance and elevated operating temperatures are design requirements.
This reducing tee is intended for use in CPVC pressure piping applications across industrial, commercial, and process piping installations. The SxSxS socket configuration accepts solvent-cemented CPVC pipe on all three ports. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure-bearing capacity relative to Schedule 40, making it suitable for higher-demand service lines. It is a direct-fit component for systems already built with Schedule 80 CPVC pipe and fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 CPVC pressure piping systems using 2-inch main run pipe with a 3/4-inch branch outlet.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the applicable edition of the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Shut down and depressurize the system completely before cutting into existing piping. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 wall thickness; do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the system to pressure.
