The GEORG FISCHER 9801-211 is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing tee fitting designed for hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial piping systems. Molded from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, this tee handles run and branch connections where the branch line steps down from the main run size. It carries a maximum temperature rating of 200 degrees F, making it suitable for hot water service and many industrial fluid applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in pressurized systems where plastic fittings are specified over metal. The gray CPVC construction resists corrosion, scale, and many chemical agents encountered in commercial and industrial environments.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial plumbing installations, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution lines where CPVC Schedule 80 pipe is specified. The reducing configuration connects a 1.5-inch run on both ends to a 1-inch branch outlet, making it a practical choice when a smaller branch line tees off a larger main. Slip-socket ends accept CPVC Schedule 80 pipe solvent-welded with a CPVC-compatible cement. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent-cement joining. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer; do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not compatible with CPVC material. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before pressurizing the system.
