The GEORG FISCHER 861-300 is a Schedule 80 PVC threaded nipple rated for 210 PSI at 73 degrees F. It measures 2.5 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length, with male pipe thread (MPT) connections on both ends. This nipple is manufactured from rigid PVC, making it resistant to corrosion, chemical exposure, and scaling. It is used to extend or connect threaded pipe runs in pressurized systems and is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, commercial, and residential piping systems.
The 861-300 is suited for cold and ambient-temperature fluid handling applications where a rigid, threaded Schedule 80 PVC nipple is required. Typical install scenarios include chemical transfer lines, irrigation headers, water treatment systems, and process piping where pressure ratings and chemical resistance are priorities. At 12 inches in length, it provides a full-length nipple configuration for longer threaded extensions between fittings or equipment connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using 2.5-inch nominal MPT fittings and valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVC and the fluid media being conveyed. Do not use metal pipe wrenches directly on PVC threads without protective jaw pads, as overtightening can crack the fitting.
