The GEORG FISCHER 861-020 is a threaded pipe nipple sized at 3/4 inch nominal diameter by 2 inches in length. Pipe nipples are short sections of pipe with male threads on both ends, used to connect two female-threaded fittings, valves, or equipment ports in a piping system. This nipple is a standard fitting used in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping assemblies where a close or short extension between threaded connections is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work across residential and commercial systems.
The 861-020 nipple is suited for use in water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and general-purpose fluid distribution piping. Its 3/4-inch nominal thread size is one of the most common sizes found in residential and light commercial applications, making it a frequent component in valve assemblies, manifold connections, and equipment hookups. It is compatible with any standard female-threaded fitting or valve body of the same nominal pipe size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard fitting for use with 3/4-inch female NPT-threaded connections in plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before making up the connection. Do not over-tighten threaded fittings, as this can crack female ports on valves or equipment.
