The GEORG FISCHER 847-060 is a 6-inch Schedule 80 PVC cap designed to terminate the end of a PVC pipe run in pressure and drain piping systems. Manufactured from rigid PVC, this cap provides a durable, solvent-weld closure rated for the higher pressure demands of Schedule 80 systems. At approximately 2.99 pounds and measuring 4.86 inches in length, it is sized for straightforward installation in commercial and industrial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on PVC pressure systems will find this cap a standard OEM-grade fitting for capping off live or future pipe ends.
This cap is appropriate for use in residential and commercial Schedule 80 PVC piping systems, including water supply, chemical distribution lines, and irrigation infrastructure where higher wall thickness and pressure ratings are required. Schedule 80 fittings are commonly specified in industrial facilities, municipal water systems, and commercial mechanical rooms where pressure ratings exceed those of Schedule 40 systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting compatible with 6-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe systems and standard solvent-weld socket fittings of the same nominal size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Before installation, depressurize and drain the pipe system completely. Apply PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings per the cement manufacturer instructions. Allow adequate cure time before returning the system to service.
