The GEORG FISCHER 837-250 is a PVC reducer bushing designed to transition between a 2-inch spigot connection and a 1.25-inch slip connection in pressurized or gravity-flow piping systems. This fitting allows plumbers and pipefitters to reduce pipe diameter inline without additional adapters, keeping the installation clean and code-compliant. PVC construction makes the 837-250 resistant to corrosion and chemical degradation, suitable for potable water, irrigation, and general plumbing distribution lines where plastic pipe is permitted.
This reducer bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a size reduction is needed within a PVC piping run. The spigot end inserts directly into a standard socket fitting, while the slip end accepts a pipe of the reduced size, making it a practical solution for in-line reductions on supply lines, distribution manifolds, and irrigation laterals. Installation is handled by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following local plumbing code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-weld connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and deburr all pipe ends, apply a listed PVC primer and solvent cement per the manufacturer instructions and applicable IPC or local plumbing code, and allow adequate cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use with piping systems or fluids outside the rated service conditions for Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC.
