The GEORG FISCHER 817-100 is a 10-inch Schedule 80 PVC 45-degree elbow configured with socket-by-socket (SxS) ends. Built from rigid PVC, this fitting handles directional changes in pressure-rated piping systems where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are priorities. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides extra strength over Schedule 40, making it suitable for higher-pressure or more demanding service conditions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically specify this elbow for industrial process lines, chemical handling systems, and commercial plumbing installations where metallic fittings are not appropriate.
This elbow is used in residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, chemical distribution, and industrial process piping wherever a 45-degree change in direction is required on a 10-inch line. The socket ends accept pipe for solvent-cement joining, which creates a permanent, pressure-rated connection. Its PVC construction resists a wide range of acids, bases, and salts, making it a common choice in water treatment and industrial facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 10-inch nominal pipe size with solvent-cement socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not apply heat or use threaded connections on socket-end fittings.
