The GENOVA PRODUCTS 34227 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing fitting used to transition from a 2-inch pipe connection down to a 3/4-inch female threaded port. The spigot end inserts directly into a 2-inch socket fitting, while the FPT end accepts a 3/4-inch male threaded pipe or fitting. Made from rigid PVC, this bushing maintains pressure integrity across a range of cold-water and chemical service applications. It conforms to ASTM D1785 and D2466 material and dimensional standards. Plumbers, irrigation contractors, and pool service professionals install this fitting as a standard inline reducer within Schedule 40 PVC piping systems.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping where a size reduction is needed at a threaded connection point. Rated applications include potable water service lines, underground residential sprinkler systems, irrigation distribution, swimming pool plumbing, deionized water lines, and chemical drainage systems. The spigot-by-FPT configuration is commonly used where a solvent-welded main line transitions to a threaded branch or equipment connection at a reduced diameter.
Designed for use with Schedule 40 PVC piping systems. Compatible with 2-inch Schedule 40 socket fittings on the spigot end and standard 3/4-inch male NPT threaded connections on the FPT end. Rated for irrigation, underground residential sprinkler systems, water service pipe, deionized water lines, swimming pool installations, and chemical drainage systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation contractors. The spigot end requires solvent cement applied per the fitting and cement manufacturer instructions before insertion into the mating socket. Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before cutting into any existing pipe. The FPT end should be assembled with PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVC to prevent leaks at the threaded joint.
